				 | Shamshir Cartouche Translation Help

Hi ! I was wondering if anyone could help in translation of this Shamshir Cartouche. There is some loss in the gold inlay but it seems readable. Thanks in advance. |

Namaste, Ksbhati This is a very fine wootz blade... fantastic!!!! The cartouche reads: "Walaed Shah Abbas", meaning "Reign of Shah Abbas. It most likely refers to the Safavid king Abbas (1587-1629), but the blade is probably 18th Century Safavid, but hard to say without seeing it complete. |

Thank you alex. The blade is very high quality and probably early 17th century in my estimate. It has bold and wavy johar.
