A good friend's great grandfather was stationed in the Philipines in the late 1900s. He collected this. My friend inherited this with a kampilan and a dagger. He was having a garage sale and nobody wanted to buy them, so he offered them to me at a very low price. I had to reshape the broken pommel. The piece seems entirely original. Need to do a little rust removal and more cleaning. The scabbard is just two pieces of wood. It had come apart and I glued it back together How can I better clean the dark spots and bring out the center panel? Your comments? |
