Caucasian (Dagestan)pistol translation needed
Caucasian (Dagestan) FLINTLOCK pistol lock with Arabic inscription.
The only mark is on the lock. It would be great if a member could translate it. |

Amal 'Ali (Work of 'Ali.)
It's likely not from Daghestan; the lock at least is Circassian, or in the Circassian style. I suspect it was assembled from diverse parts in Georgia. |

Hi Cerjak.
That is a very nice pistol. I agree with Oliver, the lock is Circassian style. The locks on the blunderbuss knee pistol and the long gun from the Link are both in the Caucasian style. Believed by some, including myself, to be from Persian origin. Again, very nice guns all. Here is another pic of a Circassian style lock: Rick. |
