Default Bronze Figures of Theyyam with Indian weapons

About 7 inches tall. I received these from a friend who was traveling in Kerala, India. Though the Theyyam ritual dancers usually dress in much more flamboyant costumes, he assured me that these are representational of much older Theyyam order. They certainly show traditional ceremonial Indian arms and costumes.

The second picture shows a figure with a wonderful sword. I have one of these and will post pictures if there is any interest.

Both figures hold shields. My fourth picture shows an very old shield used by the Theyyam. Cobra versions of Nagas at the four corners as well as Shiva's trident.

The last picture shows a Theyyam in full regalia, armed with the sword and shield.

There is indeed . Please share.
BTW, the closeup in the third picture appears to show a tulwar-hilted short sword with a curved blade whose edge bevel is on the inside edge - a sort of proto-kukri?

Hi Bill,
Interesting figures, and please let us se your sword as well. Do you have more than these two figures?

Yes Berkley, this is interesting. Also have a look at this relief from a Hampi temple in south India.

Berkley

It seems that some Kukri were hilted with the disc pommel.... unfortunately the blade is not visible.
