				 | Indonesian Spear

Hello, I got this spear from the SEA area. Because I`m not common with these I have no idea where it comes from and if there is something special about the snake pattern carving on the blade, which I have not seen before. The haft is made from red wood. My guess will be Borneo. Could anyone help ? Thanks from Dirk |

Hello Dirk, can we see the shaft and also the ferrule complete? This can give some hints. Think that it is from Indonesia or Malaysia. Regards, Detlef |

By form I vote Indonesian, but as Detlef said, it would be more helpful to have a full picture. Also - what an odd blade?! |

The pamor pattern looks like a Crocodile's back . New to my limited experience . Do you suppose that what we are seeing here is a repurposed very coarse wood rasp ? Nah ... |
