Well, I am just bragging :-)
Got them very cheap week ago, and here they are. The first one , no scabbard, plain steel, with an inscription and a mark. Can anybody guess the blade's origin ( it has Indian ricasso)? The handle is very complex and sophisticated. |

This one is very old and complete with the original scabbard. Interesting "stitch": unlike turkish wires, this one has mini nails.
The handle is spectacular, with very beautiful brass inlays. The blade also has Indian ricasso, no markings, and..... very fine wootz pattern. I am beyond myself! :-) |

Oh Nice
, I like the second one. one usually does not see that blade style with this style of hilts. really nice. Oh and in Afghanistan we call them shamshir, not pulowar, I have no idea where that word originates from. on another note I was surprised that you did not comment of my shashka.

Very nice blades. Great you were able to get a scabbard with the second. Congrats!! I've always liked the looks of the Pulwar. Rick.

A real oriental dream.... The first has maybe an indian blade. The second , a persian blade . My eyes and me thanks you. Louis-Pierre |

I think both blades are Indian: the second one also has "indian ricasso" and the wootz is very fine-grained.
