Sm. No.Indian dagger?

was running my ebay searches while waiting for NCIS to come on TV when i noted this

had 45 sec to go, put in a bid & got it for less than a fiver, it seems similar to a MOP & jade pesh that i got a few years ago,

but new one is 24 cm. long with a 16 cm. blade, a bit smaller, looks like a nice fullered blade, tho handle must be a bit small. wonder if it's a child's or woman's?

These pesh were often sold to British troops and tourists back in the 19th century as a souvenir of their journey to India. They are very well made and a great addition to any collection.

i think i have a weakness for these, i have the ones above and just picked up this one one ebay which looks like a proper working model, wood or horn grip with pommel ring, 8 3/4 in. blade and with it's original scabbard in good condition ( the one for my MOP one above was in field 'repaired' state)

Is this the case of all bladed weapons seen with this kind of jade & MoP grip (thinking of the pesh here, not the newly bought one)? It's a rather distinctive style, and I've seen it quite often, so it'd be nice to know what conclusions could be drawn from it.
