Strange looking sword

Hi again
just bought this for not much money, am not sure if it is junk or interesting. Have not laid my hands on it yet so will have to rely on pictures for now. Any thoughts. The fittings are said to be silver, the sheath wooden.

Looks to me like a newly made Battak sword,but not a very traditional one.

Justin is right. I have seen a number of these through the years and I would have it tested because I think it is white brass/metal, not silver.
