			This shows that some pieces can still be found (in an affordable) way. The trick is....to go and check out known addresses frequently.   
		
		
		
			  I found this Mangbetu knife last Thursday in a secondhand shop, amongst junk. I first saw the blade. The rest of the piece was literally 'buried' under other stuff. I immediately recognized the blade shape, so I asked the shop assistant to show me the knife. I was happily surprised to see it had an ivory handle. I know that often Mangbetu knives with figural handles were created to 'please' the taste of the Europeans. Nevertheless, it's an attractive piece. A nice addition to my collection of Mangbetu knives. Here are some pics :  |
