The hilt strikes me as Sudanese? It does not seem to be a standard Hirjaz grip can you post a close up please. |

No it is not the typical Hijazi style, but it has been with the piece for a very long time by the look of it. I would be quite happy to leave it the way it is, but if I could get the right type of hilt, I would probably change it back to the way it should be. Mind you these pieces, especially the older ones have a "history" and it may be better to leaves things as they are. What do you think? Regards Stuart |
