Ive had four of these over the years, [seen about 12 or 13.] kukri collecters buy them as kukris, They are all made at Cossipore Arsenal, mostly in 1919,1921 & 1927 Although Ive seen a scabbard dated 1917.
To me the look Burmese or Thai a WW2 veteran told me a few years ago he saw Chin troops in the Brit army carrying similar native weapons. I think there probably a copy of a tribal burmese or Thai tribal design? Rather than a kukri? So anyway you Dhafia guys ![]() Also The bullk of the blade steel seems essentialy as forged ? rather than further ground. Most seems to be excelent steel & temper. They make great users very practical design. Spiral ![]() ![]() Also this one carries a WIWI 4 marking that. Ive never been able to fathom the meaning of though. ![]() |
