Old Keris from Sawah
These two keris were found in sawah in Trowulan east Java. Trowulan was main city for Majapahit. We think these blades are from that time about 1400 to 1500 AD. They are both covered with crust and some small stones. If we try to clean we think the blades will break. The long one is 34 cm and the short one 29.5 cm. The short one has spur near start of the blade.

Interesting, though as you have acknowledge, beyond restoration. I don't have much to say about these other than the spur on short one is an interesting feature.

Hmmm... or was it buried and forgotten?... A possibility.
Nothing much to look at, isn't it? May I know Pak Mudi, why it is thought to be from Majapahit era? Could it be from a later period... ie. 5 - 30 years ago? You mentioned we, may I know who is the 'we'? Last edited by Alam Shah; 14th July 2006 at 08:22 AM. Reason: more questions? |

Yes they are sorry keris. They are like keris mummy. The body of the two keris is most gone. The crust from the sawah is now the shell and the bone of these keris. For me, I love the two keris. I did not pay money for these keris. I was asked to keep them. For me I ask question why they become found? I never before see keris from ground before.
