The guy told me that he is not interested, he is a car guy so I got it for free.. Should really appreciate your opinions about it.... Bes, Stefan |

Hi
Lucky man, it's a cool dagger. This one is easy. It's a late Ottoman Kurdish dagger from Iraq. The little circles in the silver were for turquoise stones. Look at Marsh Arab jambiya and you will understand what I mean. But I think you have one already...

Hi,
I agree with Kubur. It is a bit of a primitive example though and has some unusual features. The hilt is not rounded, the blade has not central ridge. Looks like village, local work, but it is authentic and well-used - personally, I like them this way. Besides, a Dutch saying says that you should not check the teeth of a given horse (given for free).

Thank you Kubur and Motan! I really appreciate your opinions!
I wonder for instance how long it will take before I learn what is a Khanjar and what is a Jambiya... Easier to say dagger.... Well, I learned about old Winchester lever actions and Colt SAA revolvers so I guess, I will learn about this too.... but this is much harder.... With all that said, thank you for being there! ![]() Best, Stefan |

Nice Kurdish style dagger of a simple type. Is that a full tang with a riveted slab
grip? |

An unusual method of construction for this type of dagger. Usually they have a one piece hilt and the blade with a short tang. |
