			Dea all,

I bought this spear/tombak. Firstguess is Indonesia, and also the seller places it as "from Indonesia". I feels familiar, but I can't lay my finger on the exact origin... Any help appreciated. Also in respect to the metal collar that must have been on the shaft. Would like to know how that should have looked Thanks Best regards, Willem |

I HAVE SEEN SIMULAR SPEARS FOR SALE IN BORNEO, MALAYSIA AND INDONESIA. I WOULD GUESS THEY WERE MADE IN EITHER INDONESIA OR MALAYSIA. THE DAYAK IN BORNEO MAY HAVE HAD SOME THAT WERE IMPORTED BUT GENERALLY THE TRADITIONAL SPEARS WERE NOT LIKE YOURS. I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED IF STREAMERS OR SOMETHING WAS ATTACHED TO THIS KIND OF SPEAR THRU THE HOLES AT THE REAR OF THE BLADE. ITS A NICE ONE THOUGH IT DOES APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN CUT DOWN.
