It arrived!
The first word that comes to mind is "wow". The second - monumental. The third ... incomplete. It is an absolutely great book, but it is obvious that it only covers parts of the Balkans, mostly the South (which was the original idea) and the West. The Eastern Balkans with all their weapon production centers are barely mentioned. Also, with a few exceptions, only weapons up to the mid 19th century are examined.

I am puzzled as to why that is - maybe the author thought that the later periods and the other regions of the Balkans are already well covered in other works. Or maybe the scope of the work would have been so large, that it would have been impossible to publish in a single volume - it is a huge book as it is.

Anyway, an amazing book and a perfect Christmas gift.
