Here is a contemporary painting, dated 1508 and by a Transylvanian artist, Vicentius of Hermannstadt (modern Sibiu). The S-shaped quillons are broad and probably grooved, as seen on these
sabers posted earlier. The rainguard is the cuff-shaped type which seems to be relatively more common in the east.
