IMHO this keris has been made for initiation purposes and only used at (a muslim)school and to be used at initiation-day by any pupil who became muslim that day and where the keris is used to pay a certain respect (of course I'm not sure the kind of lessons which are followed there).
I am not so sure that we can forget about "tourist keris" because i have a strong feeling that is what this keris is. I don't find much sense in you in initiation suggestion. Keris like these are readily available at markets as Alam Shah has suggested. But if you show us the rest we could well be wrong.
