This barrel belongs to a local fellow collector and we wouldn't doubt it was once mounted in a blunderbuss. Interestingly we have the conviction that, when the tang screw enters from the bottom (not this case), is a sign of being Portuguese. Sharp note about the
U cutout in the breech plug, which makes full sense; i will pass this to my friend.
