Thank you for the encouraging comments As soon as I saw it, I had to get it. I'm loving the pattern-welding.

Robert your observation is correct. It looks and feels like someone cleaned up the break at some point for a repair, that evidently did not last. The adhesive material was very dry and it scraped off easily.

I'm guessing the pommel is narra burl? I have a nice piece of amboyna that I might use to carve a repair.

Yes Maurice, I had looked at your thread before. Trying to wrap my head around what would makes this a Yakan piece.
