An exceptional and thorough article, David! Thank you for posting it here for us 'sea-fairers'! In regards to your next article on the American types, be sure to check out Hartzler's book on American tomahawks and trade axes. There is a section in that volume covering the development of the boarding ax, with pics of the three distinct U.S. patterns. Good luck and looking forward to seeing the next published article!
