Yes, the blade on your short sword is likely European, perhaps a cavalry saber from the mid-19th C. I agree with Jose when he says that the blade was broken and reshaped. There appears to have been a knuckle guard also, and part of that is missing.
The dagger is interesting. The hilt looks Ilokano to me, with a horn grip, a short brass ferrule at either end, and a small knob fixed to the full length tang. Also, the close-fitting tooled leather sheath commonly accompanies Ilokano knives. I'm assuming that the cross section of the blade is a flattened triangular shape, which is certainly seen on some Luzon knives of the late 19th C.
