I thought it said Akhbar...meaning Great ~ but Dom reckons made by . I can see that...

I saw a similar mark on The "TVV kattara for comment" thread at post #149. By Michael Blalock. Both marks placed below for ease of reference.

Could it be that the simple cross on some Arab swords is related to this mark as a simplified short version..?

Either way if the marks are the same it tends to add weight to an Algerian sword origin to the subject blade..(and/or blademark) It is geographically plausible.
