Had to run out and do some work. (Gotta make some money to support my addiction to Ethnographic weapons.)

Want to add some ideas about this shield. Let me say from the get go that I am not familiar with this exact type of shield.

This is just guessing until I get it in my hands, but I would not think this is really old, maybe fifty years at most, but it has a lot of work put into it, so it doesn't seem to have been made "for people who travel the world for fun."

Maybe made by indigenous people, possibly for re-enactments, dance, or silat.

I am curious if it is even the right kind of wood. Looks denser, not like the very light woods that many of the older shields were made from, because they were used to deflect blows and not fortifications to hide behind.

I just like the way it looks. Will give more information when I get it, and better pictures.

Would appreciate some comments from people who might be familiar with this kind of shield. Or just thoughts and reflections.....
