Default Golok Djoeragan

Hullo everybody!

The design philosophy is Soenda, but it is/was eventually available/made throughout the archipelago.
The example I have posted is that of a Golok Pandjang Djoeragan. The fittings indicate that this one wasn't an 'everyman's' implement.
As to whether yours is a golok or a pedang, it depends on the blade. If the blade is designed primarily for hacking, then it's a golok. If it's primarily designed for slicing, then it's a pedang. Remember that a golok was also used as a 'back-up sword' by the Prboe (warrior) caste in Soenda society.
Given the length of your specimen; if it's a golok, then it's a golok pandjang.
The handle is now referred to by the Soenda as 'tjeker kidang' (deer hoof). Other people may refer to it as tapak koeda, makara, etc.

Best,
