Note: of course Jerusalem is a wonderful experience as a whole, but it is full of "antique tourist traps" with just a bunch of legit antiquities stores, working with license, premium prices.
It is WELL WORTH the trouble to travel one hour from Jerusalem to Tel-Aviv/Jaffa. Old Jaffa has been under extensive renovations (and still is), especially the antique harbor area, with 17th century buildings. There is a very large 'suk' style flea market, naturally with fakes but also some real bargains. Avner's shop is located in one of the best spots on a high hill in the middle of the old city (
Kedumim square).
