[edit] Okay this axe was bothering me and I could swear I'd seen something very similar to it before in my reference material. So I've been digging and found something in one of my glossaries. The description says it's a Basuto axe (which is a Bantu ethnic group like the Zulu who live largely in Lesotho in South Africa).
