I would like to thank everyone who has commented so far for your interest and help in confirming the age of this gunong. As soon as it arrives I will clean and take a very close look at the blade to see if it is laminated or not but just by enlarging and looking at the above pictures I already believe that it more than likely is. I am also looking forward to cleaning the left over glue "from where the hilt at one time had been wrapped with tape" to see if the hilt is of burled wood as I also suspect it to be.
