Thank you for reminding of this book, mine is in storage for a couple more months yet.

I am not yet convinced that these are "pure" Chinese swords though. I think they are a minority in SEA.

There are other types known too, all with a common type hilt of varying degrees of quality.

I believe this to be one of the types too;

I had a very nice hand chopper with a carved timber figure much like these to, I think it lays with Josh now.
