Kukri with that style of handle were in production in WWII, especailly in the Dehra Dun area, with both wooden and horn handled variants.
Some are of very good quality in the steel, and Gurkhas were issued with these types of kukri, although I have not seen a dui chira issued one, but Angkhola and standard cross section ones were.
Yours does look post WWII, but of good quality, have you been able to test the metal yet?
Some British Tommies had the blades chromed of the ones they brought back, in some cases in India, and some when they returned home, which is a bummer to remove!
They were also issued to the Gurkhas post WWII as well.
