There was a reserve on the blade and the bidder kept bidding until the reserve was met.
I am not convinced of any great conspiracy to come here Ariel. Maybe, who knows. I certainly don't know anything about this specific blade, but this could just be a noobie paying big bucks for a very nice repro.
