I can totally understand paying that price!
When your life depends on having a good sword, it's nice to have the best.
And nowadays, you never know when you'll need it; a little tiff in the supermarket line, a little argument over politics, and you better have your two-hander ready... Although something shorter, like this very sword, might be better for 'indoor work'... specially when that rolling pin comes flying at your head!
Yes, I collect; I've had the 'bug' for going on fifty years. I've often tried to explain it, and really can't. Perhaps it's the fascination with something that has had so much work put into it, both on the functional level and on the artistic level, not to mention the spiritual level.
Any ideas?
