Thanks, JP! That came out very cool. I especially like the effect around the Timonium weekend (when I was shown the layout, the dates had yet to be inserted).

Some of you may remember this one from previous posts, and still others from my presentation last year at Timonium. Mark has the "mate" to it.

This Thai darb (daab) dates to the Ayutthaya period, probably 17th century. However, a British dealer from the UK advised us last year that he once owned both Mark's sword and this one, and believes they dated to the 16th. In any event, it is quite old.

This is atypical of most dha/darb in that the mounts are iron with a full tang. The grips are some sort of woven textile, and the remains of gold "koftgari" are present. The blade is light, straight and extremely well made with signs of differential hardening. Mark had Philip Tom polish one side of his example and I recall it having nice activity (Mark, please jump in with comments).
