Default Same makers signature on both and Afghan and Indian dagger?

I found the exact same makers signature on both a late 19th-early 20th century Afghan military dagger and an Indian jambiya. (The Afghan military dagger also has the name of the person who commissioned the piece, and the Indian jambiya also has an umbrella mark)

I have never seen such a “tughra” style signature on Indian arms before, and I find it very unlikely that the same maker just happened to make both of these daggers. So I’m guessing one of these daggers has a fake modern signature applied perhaps? I’m curious to hear your opinions
