Probably Persian barrel of the Matchlock
Comparison of the channel inlaid silver decoration with other decorated metal objects has led to the conclusion that the decoration of the barrel is almost certainly from the early 17 th century. The calligraphic stamp with the 12 circles around it represent the 12 Imams of Shia religion of Islam. The top circle that has another circle inside (sun and moon?) and floral decoration represents the Imam Ali. Remarkable is that the matchlock is only 128cm long and the barrel 89cm an its total weight approx 2,5kg, centrainly not a matchlock for war.
