Old Indo-Persian weapons were not “regulation” ones: and this is why there are infinite differences between them.  
G.C. Stone for example described “Khyber knives” blades varying in length between 14 and 30”. I have two with blades slightly less than 12” and one 34”  ( proving old  George too conservative:-)).
