I don't even think it is a recent mandau.
Better pictures of the blade would have been nice, as it is indeed a unusual blade.

Sadly I forget to bid higher, I think, the given winning bid was a bargain for a rather unusual mandau. Like you I would like to see better pictures from the blade.
