The origin of these ukirans is Surakarta, Solo. They represent Semar, the clown from the wayang scene.
These ukirans were originally used and are still present in the collection of the keraton.
I don't think that these ukirans are old but they are very fine examples and of a good quality. I would say a reproduction and not a replica. I would be very pleased when someone gave me these as a present to punish me
