Hi Gene,
This would be a Brazilian 'faca de ponta'. Search for this term in this very forum and you will find a few threads discussing these knives typology.
The stamp 'O CABOCLO' is the name of the traditional Brazilian peasant mestiço person.
You may as well post a close up of the other mark; potentially the seal of some known Brazilian cuttlery; or some foreign (German?) exporter to Brazil.
