You have any more info on your great-grandfathers exploits in the Philippines? What branch, which units, or where he was stationed? :) Typically a lot of battles and skirmishes were documented.

Don't the recent ones have "Philippines" stamped in the blades? Or the scabbard saying Philippines with some special inlays. I see a lot of recent, even WWII blades this way. :p But I don't know.
