Battara, I could be wrong, but I had seen a few examples of this type of barong blades but none of them were mono. I think the blade on your example was not etched.

I used a regular 100-140 watt soldering gun, not sure to what degree of temperature it produced but it did the job. I had light etched the blade, just enough to see the twistcore...
