Quity often they have multiple barrels too.

Attached is my favourite revolver of this type :)

I have no idea if there is a provenance but it would be most likely used during the tthirty...

Explosive, deadly.. it reused medieval gothic barrels. I have a few in my collection, only 6cm long with a 9mm bore.
