Bugi Keris whis strange bone hilt.

Hello,

I would like to have your opinion on this bugis keris that I think comes from Sulawesi.
The scabbard and blade are classic but the bone handle is more unusual.
What do you think?

Hello,
Finally I succeed to separate the gandar and pendok. The glue was only on the upper part, at the junction with the wrangka.

It's mainly Timor and Molluks klewang I feel.
I seem to have read (but I don't know where) that on these islands the blades were imported from other islands and especially (but not only) Sulawesi.

Sulawesi Klewang??

Hello,

I'm not sure about the origin of this Klewang.
The handle and the blade make me say that it comes from Sulawesi, but the sheath isn't in the Toraja style (for the little that I...

Indeed, Sumatra seemed so obvious to me that I thought it had already been said.
I have Sumatran's pedang with a close shape , but without the hook tip and with a much more basic handle.

"Golok" Toraja ?

Hello,
I recently acquired this golok. I think Toraja origin because the work of the pamor and sheath are identical to those of the Penai.
I had never seen one before. Do you have information about...

I agree with you, for me it's unlikely that the scabbard is mid-18th century. Being reasonable I would say that it dates from the 19th century.

For the Mendak, I have several old but what are the...

Inside the sheath the wood is lighter, but already a little orange. As with the majority of sheaths, I think polishing and waxing (or oil?) make the color of the wood darker and more intense.
