hi, only the first battalion had the Eagle. All other battalions of the same regiment just had the pennant. There could be up to 3 or 4 battalions to the regiment.michael

Hi, here are two of my sabres, they are both takes on the earlier austro hungarian sabres. The first is a french sabre,from around 1767 and you can see that it takes its form from the earlier weapon....

hi, no there is not any weld in the helmet, but what the pictures do not show is what looks like an old sword cut to the front upper section. this would just be the place for a cavalrymans blow to...

help needed

hi chaps, i have been looking at a french sabre, on the back blade is MFure imp ale du klingenthal, then a space and then the date 1807. the number 7 is crossed in the middle.
what is setting alarm...

thanks fernando, I have seen some swords of honour for sale at auctions and if named go for lots of money, there was also the silver swords that got given out by napoleon for acts of valour, I think...
