Thank you. I suspected it was of FrenchDesign all along. Just was not sure with the flower motifs. Which resemble my Japanese Police sword from around the same period. Google search of the name...

Identification help

Hi guys long time no post. I just recently picked this up. not sure if it's a fake or real. It seems to be from around WW2 time frame, has Japanese markings but the writing on the blade seems to come...

I was told by the dealer it was from 1700 and that it came out of a private collection. From the research that I have done the blades did fall out of favor in the early 1700s but I cannot find pics...

all the weight is in the back so dont believe its a scale. The cover can be locked with a ring and can be with some difficulty locked on the back side. plus the front has sharpened edges.
