I believe they are arabified versions of Roman names.
:shrug: Ottoman Turks probably learned them through Arab/Islamic sources.

Turkish or rather Ottoman, the title Agha mostly denotes membership to the Ottoman military class, and the formula "amel-i ......., sahib ve malik ....." is found in ottoman made weapons.
