The ferrule in your blade look like they were milled out which strikes me as being a bit unusual , handle nearly identical to how mine was.

Hi All,

Got this item in a job lot.

Looking at pictures before i saw item in hand I taught it was a congolese short sword but the blade is wafer thin 2 mm or so and quiet flexible and springy....

I would hazard a guess that the number represents the year the gun was in...
