My first recommendation is don't be in a hurry and force the removal.
Next, I like Pecards Antique Leather dressing; saturate the outside of the scabbard on both sides and when that is absorbed,...

Looking at the top of the shield, there appears to be a hole; if so there was probably a metal boss there at one time. This, as well as the handhold set up inside of the item, makes me think that it...

Unknown Spoon

I believe that this is an old mustard or salt spoon. Can anyone tell me how old it is and where it comes from; I'm guessing the "84," is for the silver content.

Thanks for the insight, but an 8.5" blade seems pretty lethal, lol. I'm guessing that this item is early to mid-20th century.

God willing, I'll be at P-07 & P-08; come by to batter, trade, or sell or usually, as Rick or Charles do, show me the treasures that they got to before I did, lol.

I like the attributions to the possible origins of the dagger, but the blade is too well made, too sharp to be a dance dagger or one for just appearance in my opinion and that is why I thought it...

Thanks, guys, you sent me down the right path and the Viking archives were a great source of information; based on the size of the knife, I agree that it is an Al Khusa.

Unknow S.E.Asian Knife ??

I just picked this knife up and to me it looks S.E. Asian, maybe Cambodian or Vietnamese. It has a heavy, sharp 11" blade(the cutting edge is on the inner side), with a crude wooden scabbard.

Balkan Dagger?

I just picked up this small woman's or child's dagger. The handle is only 3" long, however the substantial, double-edged 8.5" blade is absolutely lethal.
Maybe Georgian, or Armenian?

Miquelet Jezail

I got a little lucky at a local show last weekend and I picked up this gun(as well as a couple of other things), and I was wondering where it was from. The arsenal marks might be an indication if...

A Small Piece of History

Recently I bought a grouping of several items and in this lot unbeknown to me was this simple cane with a plaque that stated "Hancock House Massacre 1778."
I was unfamiliar with this event, so I...

I thought the same thing. If the cap on top unscrews, maybe you will get lucky and the spikes are attached to the sleeve that doesn't look original, and if it slides off, you can return it to its...

Thanks Tim, you almost got your wish My wife and I play this game, that when I bring in a weapon I assure her that it has never harmed anyone, she winks, groans and allows me to carry it upstairs....

It looks like they cut down the handle and reinserted the blade; probably to make it fit into some soldier's duffle bag.
