The pommel- Looks 20th or maybe 19th century. Look at the sharp edges that appear modern machine made....

North European sabre dated to mid 1600s. Also known as a campaign sword or walloon sword. Possibly used in the thirty years war. The blade has a number of makers marks that make the blade much nicer...

Yes, perhaps the best thing about this dagger is that it has a sibling which contains it's original blade. Either made by the same smith or no doubt from the same shop. Amazing to be found together...
