The scabbard of the first one is military WW2...
The scabbard of the first one is military WW2 (leather combat cover), but blade is much older. Nakago is shortened and indeed remounted several times. I can't see anything of the blade. I'm guessing...

:-) I understand, did the same once with the copper nails on the butt stock of an 'africanised' rifle...I regretted, but couple of months later oxidation had already darkened the nails...
