Used to be a sabre, i guess

The guard is obvious cut off. No marks on the blade.
Has anyone an idea what this used to be?

I'm afraid this is a fairy tale as well. Brutaly said, chinese antique is fake. You have to know how to look to distinguish real chinese antique from fakes.

I do remember the explanation of a historian of using lead bullets in stead of stone by the Romans. The impact of a lead bullet was proven to be a heavier injury also by the fact that lead was toxic.

I agree with David. The only thing i would do is trying to get a warangan treatment. The missing luk doesn't bother me at all on this keris. It looks to me as a fine keris.

My first thought was a trench knife. Spanish civil war like Tim said is very good possible too. I think you have to look in those two directions.
